Thank you so much to @mainenonprofits and everyone involved in organizing the annual Nonprofit Day at the Hall of Flags in the state house last week! What an amazing opportunity to meet our representatives and lawmakers to talk about the issues facing not only PIW, but nonprofits in general. It was also AMAZING meeting the vibrant and hardworking folks who run the programs that give life and support to Maine communities. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

Our talking points included-

Restore and maintain federal funding to resources such as WIOA so that low income communities can continue to access our trainings.

Support Union bid contracts and restore funding to clean energy projects so that our Locals can get back to work and resume hiring apprentices

Provide safe and protected work spaces for skilled immigrant workers

Protect and uplift skilled tradeswomen, BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ workers so that what happened to Amber Czech never happens again.
